IMERC State Restrictions'

Due to mercury-added products being banned or phased out in some states, MDI cannot ship Mercury added products (Relays, Switches and Floats) to the following IMERC states:
Connecticut (CT), Minnesota (MN), Maine (ME), Massachusetts (MA), New Hampshire (NH), New York (NY), Rhode Island (RI), or Vermont (VT)

These states belong to the Interstate Mercury Education and Reduction Clearinghouse (IMERC) group, which have these restrictions.

Exemptions are currently being applied for in cases where Mercury Relays and Switches are being used to replace relays and switches in equipment originally manufactured with Mercury Relays and Switches. But, currently, MDI cannot ship into these states.

Warranty Policy

During the time periods and subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, MDI will repair or replace to the original user or consumer, any portion of your new MDI product which proves defective due to defective materials or workmanship of MDI. At all times, MDI shall have and possess the sole right and option to determine whether to repair or replace defective equipment, parts or components. Damage caused by acts of God or conditions beyond the control of MDI will not be covered by this warranty.

  • Warranty Period
  • 1 year warranty on all MDI manufactured items (Unless item states otherwise).
  • 90 day warranty on all resale items.
  • For Pumps Only
    • Start-up reports are required to support warranty pump claims. Warranty effective only if MDI supplied or authorized control panels are used. Single phase pumps must utilize MDI supplied start components.
  • This Warranty Will Not Apply
    1. To defects or malfunctions resulting from failure to properly install, operate or maintained the product in accordance with printed instructions provided.
    2. To failures resulting from abuse, accident or negligence.
    3. To normal maintenance services and the parts used in conjunction with such service.
    4. To products which are not installed in accordance with applicable local codes, ordinances and good trade practices.
    5. The product is used for purposes other than for what is was designed and manufactured.
    6. If 3 phase motors are installed on a single phase power supply using a phase converter or if 3 phase power is supplied by only two transformers, making an open Delta system.

Warranty Exclusions

MDI specifically disclaims the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose after the termination of the warranty period set forth herein. No warranties or representations at any time made by any representatives of MDI shall vary or expand the provision hereof.

Liability Limitation

In no event shall MDI be liable or responsible for consequential, incidental or special damages resulting from or related in any manner to any MDI or resale product or parts thereof. Personal injury and/or property damage may result from improper installation. MDI disclaims all liability, including liability under this warranty, for improper installation. MDI recommends following the instructions in the installation manual. When in doubt, consult a professional. Some states do no allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Labor, ETC., Costs

MDI shall in no event be responsible or liable for the cost of field labor or other charges incurred by any customer in removing and/or re-affixing any MDI product, part or component thereof or any temporary pumping of other equipment.

Returned or Replaced Components

Any item to be replaced under this Warranty must be returned to MDI, or such other place as MDI may designate, freight prepaid.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and other rights which may vary from state to state.

In the absence of suitable proof of this purchase date, the effective date of this warranty will be based upon the date of manufacture.

Exceptions Due to dimension and weight limitations assessed by UPS, orders made with an extraordinary amount of weight or large dimensions may be subject to a freight charge. A large quantity of weight kits, for example, may require a freight charge. Please call (800) 634-4077 or contact us if you think you may be placing an order that could incur a shipping charge. We will confirm if your order does need a freight charge and can supply you with a shipping cost for your purchase at that time. Back Ordered Items

After your initial shipment of in stock items are sent, all remaining back ordered items are shipped free of charge. If all items are out of stock when you submit your order, you are responsible for the initial shipping charge. If we receive a portion of the order we will ship those items at the original cost of shipping and the remaining back ordered items will ship at no cost to you.

The method of shipping will depend on the best option available. Back ordered items will ship either First Class Mail or UPS Ground. If you would like your back ordered items to be sent out using a specific shipping method you will need to contact us at (800) 634-4077. You will be charged for the cost of shipping your back ordered items if any other method is chosen. Typically, back ordered items, if not sent out the same day, will go out the following day. Travel time will depend on your location within the continental US. Please be advised, unless otherwise notified all back ordered items will be sent via First Class Mail or UPS Ground.

Back ordered items will ship out once they are in stock.

Made to Ordered Items

At Mercury Displacement Industries Inc (MDI) most of our items are made to order in our Michigan facility. We ask for 4-10 business days after receiving your order to complete production. If there are longer lead times than this it will be communicated with you efficiently.

Made to Order items will ship out once the entire order is complete. Partial orders will not be shipped unless communicated with MDI.

Returns and Exchanges

In the event that you would like to exchange or return an item please refer to return form here. MDI does not accept used items for return or exchange. Please use the original packaging your items come to you in to send back to MDI. Once received, per our approval, you will be issued a refund, less the appropriate restocking fee. If you have a question that your invoice does not address please call and speak with a customer service representative who will give you return information specific to the product you are returning.

You have 30 days to return an item.

There is a 50% restocking fee on all Custom Made items. This includes all items that are made special, not a standard part.

There is a 25% restocking fee on all Made to Order and Resale items, this includes standard items not stocked.
Made to Order items will be shown at checkout.
Resale items are any item order from another company (Champion, Dwyer, Flo-Pro, etc).

There is a 15% restocking fee on all other items.
